Virginia Educator Joins CCS as Principal

Virginia educator Jonathan Wright has joined Conway Christian School as principal, school officials have announced. A native of Blacksburg, Virginia, Wright is a career Christian school administrator who has spent the past ten years as principal of Christian schools in southern Pennsylvania. He holds graduate and undergraduate degrees from Pensacola Christian College, which is the creator of the acclaimed A Beka curriculum used at Conway Christian School.

Wright, whose parents are instructors at Virginia Tech University, received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior as a youth. Upon graduation from high school in Virginia, he put aside the opportunity to pursue an engineering degree to instead pursue a ministry in Christian education at Pensacola Christian College. He and his wife -- who is a registered nurse -- and their three children have recently moved to Conway.

In addition to his experience as a school administrator, Wright is an experienced classroom instructor in mathematics, history and Bible. He is a longtime adult Sunday school teacher, has been active in a pulpit supply ministry, and serves in the AWANA youth ministry.

Conway Christian School offers grades K-3 through 12th grade and is a member of the South Carolina Association of Christian Schools. Located on a ten-acre campus off Medlin Parkway between U.S. 501 and Oak Street, the school was established in 1985 by four area churches, and will celebrate its 20th anniversary during the upcoming academic year.
